Working with International Organisations

The International Organisations (IOrg) division identifies opportunities for Singapore-based enterprises to work with multilateral organisations such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, International Finance Corporation, InterAmerican Development Bank and the United Nations. The market opportunities presented by these multilateral organisations is estimated at US$160 billion.

Multilateral organisations can also be key partners for project developers in emerging markets. They can provide valuable in-market insight and facilitate engagement with the local government.

Apart from public lending, these organisations also finance projects through debt, equity and other instruments provided by their private-sector lending arms, and mitigate country risk with their insurance products. Elements of country risk can also be mitigated through their involvement, and through insurance products offered by them.

Singapore-based firms are well placed to benefit from opportunities offered by these multilateral organisations, particularly in urban management, transportation, infrastructure, technology services, governance and skills development. Companies can be involved in technical assistance, project preparation and procurement stages.
